FLY SHOP
Education, Community, Conservation
About Us
What began as a local guide service in 2006 quickly grew into Round Rock’s first and only fly fishing retail shop in 2008. Since then, Living Waters Fly Fishing has become a hub for education, community, and conservation for fly anglers statewide.
Family owned and operated, with the support of an expert team, Living Waters Fly Fishing is proud to be Texas’ local fly shop, preparing anglers to fish across the state and beyond!
Purpose and Mission
To honor and glorify Jesus Christ by providing exemplary service, products, and information to every person who enters our doors and shares our waters. To educate and equip future anglers to carry on the legacy of fly fishing. To be good stewards of our rivers and to make every effort possible to leave the environment better than we found it!
Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water. - John 7:38

Conservation Initiatives
Living Waters is proud to have been chosen as the first Trout Unlimited Gold business in Texas, a classification bestowed by TU National to businesses that go above and beyond the call of duty for coldwater conservation. It is not a status that can be bought. It can only be earned. We are proud to be more than just a fly shop and guide service. Beyond being closely involved with our local TU chapter, each year we host several weeks of curated fly fishing trips, during which our clients have the opportunity to actively participate in citizen science projects to protect native Rio Grande Cutthroat trout.
As a local Texas fly shop, we do not overlook our native warmwater species. Through our own Fly Fishing the Republic® line of merchandise, we have independently raised funds for native fish conservation throughout the range of the old Republic of Texas. In 2025 alone, Living Waters orchestrated the first Guadalupe Bass Repatriation on Brushy Creek and fully funded the first Rio Grande Cichlid (Herichthys cyanoguttatus) genome project to make genetic data available for future scientific and conservation projects.
Living Waters Fly Fishing works in partnership with Texas Parks and Wildlife Department through on-the-water management projects, conservation-based citizen science, and the TPWD Angler Education Program.
Where you shop matters. We are so grateful to be able fund research and conservation projects as a result of our angling community’s support. Thank you for continuing to partner with us as we strive to preserve the future of our fisheries!

The new location is much bigger with a broader selection. The staff is passionate about fly fishing and extremely helpful with one goal in mind: to get you on fish...even newbies. They know what is hitting on local waters and are happy to tell you. The store has top-quality gear, a huge selection of flies and gift certificates if you can't make up your mind.
I've tied flies on Wednesday nights (a fun group)...all supplies provided and a new one each week. Plus, free Saturday classes, just show up. If you really want to learn, try a guided trip...mostly Brushy (bass & panfish) and the Guad (trout) but also Alaska. Alaska was a TRIP OF A LIFETIME! Mousing for rainbows! Seriously, it doesn't get any better!
Oh, and take a casting lesson, it's a game changer!
If in the area, it's a must see destination, and say hi to the owner, Chris, you'll be glad you did.”Dale M.

I went a month ago, everything I knew about fly fishing came from watching “A River Runs Through It”. A month later, after taking their free intro to fly fishing class, going out with one of their guides for a morning of fishing, and getting outfitted with gear that fit the budget I gave them, I’m now fly fishing solo and actually catching fish! These guys at Living Waters know how to take you from zero experience to loving fly fishing fast.”

My son, 13, and I are new to fly fishing. We have been in several times to get new flies and tips. Each time, the staff is extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and more than willing to help us newbies out. They make us feel comfortable even though we're rookies. There's no pressure to buy something. We booked a half day wade trip on the San Gabe and Jim more than exceeded our expectations! He was patient with us, taught us so much more than we had in the big box company's intro class, and put us - actually my boy more - on a bunch of fish. Who knew we had such great water so close. You can tell the staff and ownership truly love what they do as it shows in their kindness and willingness to help. I have since told all those I know that fish traditionally about fly fishing and recommend Living Waters. Thanks for all you do for the community!”
