A 50% deposit is required at the time of booking to reserve a date. The final 50% is due 2 days prior to the trip date.*

    • Cancellations made 48 hours or less of the trip date will be charged the full trip fee.

We fish rain or shine, hot or cold. However, if weather conditions pose a safety hazard or create unfishable water conditions, we reserve the right to move the trip to another body of water. If fishable water cannot be secured, a reschedule will be made solely at the guide or shop management’s discretion.* In the event a reschedule date cannot be secured within the season, a full refund will be issued.

*If we determine that weather conditions do not pose a safety hazard or create unfishable conditions, and the client chooses to cancel the trip anyway, our standard cancellation policies will apply.

These policies are in consideration and compensation of our guides. Thank you for your understanding.

    • Time will not be added to the end of a trip if you arrive late.

    • If you are an hour or more late without notice to your guide, your trip and all fees will be forfeited. A call, with voicemail or text follow up if your call isn’t answered, is appropriate notice. If you cannot reach your guide, please leave notice with the fly shop as well.

    • No-shows will be charged the full trip balance with no refunds issued.

Policies

  • Equipment, terminal tackle, flies, and waters are included in the price of all guided trips. Lunch is provided for full day excursions.

  • Texas is primarily a “wet wade” state, meaning that our water temperatures do not require the use of waders for the majority of the year. Dress in quick-drying long sleeve shirts and pants [no jeans please!] with proper wading footwear. Polarized sunglasses, a hat, and sunscreen are necessary as well.

If waders are necessary, they must be provided by the client. We do not rent any gear.

A valid Texas Fishing License is required for anglers 17 years or older.

Pricing does not include gratuity for your guide.  Standard gratuity for professional guides is 15-20% of the trip total.

  • Casting!  Practice distance, accuracy, and form in several different casts. (overhead, roll cast, sidearm, etc…)  Making good presentations will catch you more fish than having the “right” fly.

Spotting Fish!  Texas is blessed with plenty of clear water. Grab your polarized glasses, head to a near by river or creek, and practice spotting fish!

Stealth!  Wear natural colored clothing that help you blend in with your surroundings. Before your trip begins, prepare yourself to wade softly, avoiding quick movements. Stay low and watch your shadow.
